Size & fit

Cárte Crème shoes are made to EU sizing and run true to size. Two measurements matter on our last: length and width.

How to measure

Where to measure the length and width of your foot

  1. Take a regular pen or pencil.
  2. Place your bare foot on a sheet of paper.
  3. Put some weight on the foot.
  4. Hold the pencil straight upright and press it firmly against the foot at the points shown above, then mark.
  5. Measure the distances and find them in the charts below.

Because the pencil sits beside your foot rather than under it, a measurement taken on paper comes out about 6 mm wider than the foot itself. The chart accounts for this.

Length

EU Foot length UK F UK M US F US M CN F CN M
37 24,4 cm 4 4.5 6.5 5 37.5 38

F and M refer to the two conversion scales used in the UK, the US and China, not to who wears the shoe. If you know which scale your usual size comes from, read that column. If not, go by foot length.

Width

These are foot measurements, not shoe measurements, so the chart runs a little wider than the sizes we make. Finding yourself at either end of it does not mean the shoe will not fit. The last two columns are what you measure on paper, including the 6 mm the pencil adds.

EU Foot F Foot M On paper F On paper M
35 8,1 cm — 8,7 cm —
36 8,4 cm — 8,9 cm —
37 8,6 cm — 9,1 cm —
38 8,9 cm 8,9 cm 9,5 cm 9,5 cm
39 9,2 cm 9,1 cm 9,8 cm 9,6 cm
40 9,4 cm 9,4 cm 10,0 cm 10,0 cm
41 9,5 cm 9,7 cm 10,1 cm 10,3 cm
42 9,7 cm 9,7 cm 10,3 cm 10,3 cm
43 9,9 cm 9,9 cm 10,5 cm 10,5 cm
44 10,3 cm 10,2 cm 10,9 cm 10,8 cm
45 — 10,4 cm — 11,2 cm
46 — 10,9 cm — 11,5 cm
47 — 11,2 cm — 11,8 cm

Where a cell is empty, no reliable measurement exists for that combination. Go by the column that applies to you, or by foot length.

If your foot is wider or narrower

The Odessa is built on a wide last, so most feet fit the size their length indicates.

If your foot is up to 1 cm wider or narrower than the measurement for your size, take that size. If it is more than 1 cm wider or narrower, take one size up or down.

For example: if your length measurement puts you at a 40, but your width is more than 1 cm over, take a 41. If it is more than 1 cm under, take a 39.
