The Odessa sneaker is completely handmade in Portugal with the utmost care and craftsmanship. Each pair takes 10 hours to make, with at least 15 highly skilled people working across different stations of construction. A 100% EU product, from materials to packaging. Goodyear-welted with a Vibram outsole, a construction chosen for durability and for the ability to be resoled, not replaced.
Goodyear welt construction dates back to the 1950s, when it was used for generations in construction and agricultural work boots. Built to be resoled and to last a lifetime of hard wear. Over time, the technique found its way into formal and leisure footwear, prized for its durability and structure. Cárte Crème has adapted it for the sneaker. A Goodyear welt in a sneaker, unique, true craft. The sole's components are built to give the comfort and freedom of a sneaker, bringing that same uncompromising quality of construction to a shoe that never stops looking and feeling like a sneaker.
The upper is high quality European natural cow leather, inside and out. It develops character with wear. Expect it to darken and soften over time, a record of where you've worn it.
A wide footbed for healthier feet, with sufficient support in the heel and throughout the shoe. A flat sole for healthy foot use. The Vibram outsole is a proven choice for grip and durability.
